HMB Society invited talk – The Roots, Development and Consequences of 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine

May 12 @ 6:30 PM - 10:00 PM

The HMBS invites you to join us for our Invited Talk on the topic of The 2022 Russian Invasion of Ukraine on Thursday May 12 at The Harvard Neighbors meeting space on the Harvard Yard (Loeb House, 17 Quincy Street, Cambridge).

Beverages and sandwiches will be provided to facilitate discussion after the talks.

Belgian Fellow Annie Niessen (UPenn) will start the session by talking about the history of Europe and Ukraine and hypothesize about the inclusion of Ukraine in the European Union. After her talk, Annie will interview the Belgian Ambassador to the US Mr Regibeau (virtually/hybrid) in respect of international relations during his previous position at Ambassador to the Russian Federation. Finally, Christoph Mikulaschek (Harvard) will discuss the potential consequences of the ongoing conflict. Discussion and questions are encouraged.

Registration is required. Please register by sending an email with your details to the following email address: info@harvardmitbelgiansociety.org. If the limit is not reached yet, a confirmation and more details will be sent.

FYI: The Harvard Neighbors entrance is at the right side (one level down) of the Loeb House when facing the house.

We look forward to seeing you there,
The HMBS

During the event and following sandwiches/beverages there will be no required COVID measures. Albeit we do require you to be fully vaccinated and provide your contact information at the entrance for contact tracing. Please do not attend when experiencing any COVID symptoms.
